Notes on System Models

Contents

These are the systems that NetBSD/sparc64 supports.

Ultra 1 family Systems

CPU-specific support for the Ultra 1 family of systems was written by Eduardo Horvath.

Supported Hardware

The Ultra 1 family was an early series of single processor Sbus-based workstations from Sun Microsystems, Inc. It includes the following models:

Ultra 1 family systems include the following hardware:

NetBSD/sparc64 also supports other Sbus devices on Ultra 1 family systems, as described on the Sbus bus hardware support page.

Ultra 2 family Systems

CPU-specific support for the Ultra2 family of systems was written by Eduardo Horvath.

Supported Hardware

The Ultra 2 family was an early dual processor series of Sbus-based workstations from Sun Microsystems, Inc. It includes the following models:

Ultra 2 family systems include the following hardware:

NetBSD/sparc64 also supports other Sbus devices on Ultra 2 family systems, as described on the Sbus bus hardware support page.

Ultra 5/10 family Systems

CPU-specific support for the Ultra 5/10 family of systems was written by Matthew Green with a bunch of help from Eduardo Horvath.

Supported Hardware

The Ultra 5/10 family is a low-end low-cost PCI-based single processor workstation from Sun Microsystems, Inc. It includes the following models:

Ultra 5/10 family systems include the following hardware:

Many of the machine-independent PCI drivers have never been tested, but you can look at the list of them on the PCI bus hardware support page. They either work out of the box or have easy to fix endianess bugs. If you test a card and it is not working, please file a PR.

Known Bugs for the Ultra 5/10 port

Ultra 30/60 family Systems

Supported Hardware

The Ultra 30/60 family is a PCI-based (up to) dual processor workstation from Sun Microsystems, Inc. It includes the following models:

Sun Blade 100 Systems

CPU-specific support for the Sun Blade 100 systems was written by Eduardo Horvath.

Supported Hardware

The Sun Blade 100 is a low-end low-cost PCI-based single processor workstation from Sun Microsystems, Inc.

Sun Blade 100 systems include the following hardware:

Known Bugs for the Sun Blade 100 port

Netra X1 Systems

CPU-specific support for the Netra X1 systems was written by Eduardo Horvath.

Supported Hardware

The Netra X1 is a low-end low-cost PCI-based single processor 1U rackmount server from Sun Microsystems, Inc.

Netra X1 systems include the following hardware:

Known Bugs for the Netra X1 port

Netra T1 family Systems

CPU-specific support for the Netra T1 family of systems was written by Eduardo Horvath.

Supported Hardware

The Netra T1 family is a series of PCI-based single processor 1U rackmount servers from Sun Microsystems, Inc.

There are three models of T1. The older T1 100 and T1 105 are based around an UltraSPARC IIi and include the following hardware:

The newer T1 model 200 is based around an UltraSPARC IIe and includes the following hardware:

Known Bugs for the Netra T1 family port

SPARCengine Ultra AXi family Systems

CPU-specific support for the AXi family of systems was written by Matthew Green and Eduardo Horvath.

Supported Hardware

The SPARCengine Ultra AXi is an ATX form motherboard from Sun Microsystems, Inc. It is very similar to the Ultra 5/10 family of machines, with dual SCSI instead of PCI IDE.

SPARCengine Ultra AXi motherboard includes the following hardware:

Known Bugs for the Ultra AXi family port
